I hate forwards, okay? Don't send them to me, I'll kill you. But I just got one and the title of it was, "Gas boycott" at first I misread it and thought it said something about gay boyscouts. When I realized what it really said, I opened it kind of excitedly. Excitedly because the recent rise in gas prices is killing me. So, while I don't like forwards and think the whole chain e-mail thing is generally a waste of time, if the letter recommended not buying any gas on a certain day to send a message to gas companies - I was at least willing to listen. If enough people did it, maybe it might at least start a ball rolling somewhere. Kind of naive, I know, but I'm really frustrated by gas prices and am willing to try anything.

So, I open up the email and scroll past the gajillion email addresses and start reading. It turns out it an email encouraging folks not to buy gas from companies that buy oil from the Saudis because, according to the letter, "the Saudis want to kill us." All of them apparently. I was very frustrated. It wasn't concerned with the price of gas at all. It also started with, "I wonder why G.W. Bush didn't think of this?" Why didn't Bush think to recommend people not buy gas from Shell, Exxon, and Chevron? Hmmm, I wonder.

Yeah... i really hate fwds, too. I have a filter setup on my email to seperate them into another folder. At least when I send forwards, i'm not so lazy as to not remove the "fwd:" from the subject and clean up the message so someone can actually read it.

It's nice of you to do that. But don't send me any of those either (not that you have or would). I want all my emails from you to be personal and intimate.

It's really rare that i send them. I'd rather people drop me a quick, "Hi".. or something personal as well.

Plus, you can't be too careful with viruses and things like that out there.
