I've decided I'm going to CD Central tonight and buying some new music. I'm thinking of picking up some stuff by a band called The Fiery Furnaces. Also, can anyone recommend or not-recommend a white rapper named Buck 65? Or a band named Cat Power? Help a brother out. What else should I pick up? I want to find something new that will flip my shit the way Arcade Fire and Television On The Radio did.


I can recommend Cat Power. Reminds me a little of Portishead with an injection of alt-country.

If you listen to it, it cuts off at the end because they ran out of time but if you watch it it won't cut off. And the last song they play is one of my favorites, great song and great story.

I bought a Cat Power CD and Fiery Furnaces CD last night. Cat Power isn't bad. I was hoping with a name like Cat Power they'd bring the rock a little more, though. Still enjoyable, though. I only got about two songs into The Fiery Furnaces, though before I had to stop and entertain a house guest. Not thrilled with it so far, but I'm holding off any rash judgements.
