in which patch misses the black crows
Last night was the Tom Petty/Black Crows concert in Cincinnati. Traffic was a bitch so it took us forever to get there. The literal second we made it to our seats, Chris Robinson was saying, "Goodnight, thanks for coming." We heard three songs from a distance on the walk to the pavillion. I was really disapointed. I considered doing that thing some teenagers do where they cut themselves because they can't deal with their emotions, but I had a good shirt on. I asked P.Dirty if I was still allowed to say that I saw the Black Crows in concert. He wasn't sure how to rule on it. I decided I'm allowed to say "I saw the Black Crows in concert... sorta."
The Tom Petty half of the evening was a lot better than I expected. He's got a nice stage presence. And he really brought the rock as the kids like to say. The highlites for me were The Waiting, Don't Come Around Here No More, and a cover of the Stones' Not Fade Away. P.Dirty brought a friend from work. His name was Joe and he seemed nice. He was very polite and didn't make a big deal about my terrible, terrible flatulence on the way home.
i don't think it made it to the front P. I think it did the whole Pig Pen clowed of dust thing. It just hung around you.
