new music
Thanks to Ian for recommending The Spectacular Fantastic. I've been downloading their songs this afternoon and I really like them. Ian also recommended Okkervil River. His recommendation was quickly reinforced by my friend Sara, one of the few people's who's musical recommendations I always take seriously. I tried to go to the mp3 site Ian posted, but it keeps taking me to their Pitchfork review. Ian, resend the link when you get a chance. The rest of you, check out The Spectacular Fantastic.
Okkervil River MP3s
I would also like to recommend Math and Physics Club
They are very mellow and sound somewhat like The Smiths and Ocean Blue. Listen and let me know what you think.
Gracias. I'll let you know what I think of everything.
Okay, I downloaded the two songs off the new Okkervil River CD on that site. I'll have to listen to For Real a few more times to decide what I think, but I loved the song Black. Great song. I'll be checking out the rest of the album at my soonest possible convenience.
I haven't heard any of the new album other than the two MP3s on the site but it has gotten great reviews.
I own Stars Too Small to Use
and Don't Fall in Love with Everyone You See and have heard most of Down the River of Golden Dreams and they are all great albums.
They are hard to find though, most big chain stores don't carry them. I got lucky and found one the albums at our local record shop downtown and the other I bought off Napster.
It looks like they've got all the albums on Itunes. Plus we've got a really good indie record store here on Lexington.
