winnie cooper
I was 15 when the Wonder Years started airing on television. Winnie Cooper always seemed a little young for me. In reality, though, she was just two years younger than I was. Don't get me wrong, I could see that she was cute, especially as she aged, but she never meant to me, what she meant to a lot of guys. A lot of guys I know, guys a few years younger than me, hit puberty watching Winnie Cooper every week. She heralded them into a new world of hormones and cracking voices. For a lot of guys Winnie Cooper was the pinnacle of adolescant feminity. She was blossoming womanhood incarnate.Winnie's real name is Danica McKellar. Here she is today at 30 years old from a recent photospread in Maxim, or Stuff, or something. Clicking makes her bigger:
Like, I said, I don't have a whole lot of emotional attachment to Winnie Cooper, but for someone who does, I'm curious what the effect of seeing her once innocent face, on a woman's body, decked out in a bikini in the glossy pages of a men's magazine is. Discuss.
I was surprised to see her in Stuff magazine this month. I have to agree with ya...same face, with a woman's body. She really isn't doing anything these days. A few guest appearances here and there, but nothing huge. It is as if Stuff ran out of people to put in their magazine. Hopefully they won't do a pictoral on Natalie from Facts of Life any time soon.
Honestly, I kind of like that they went with someone obscure in today's market but still emblazened on the collective subconcious of twenty somthings. It's a little more interesting than whatever bimbo is in the latest TV movie.
she was my first girl crush, and somehow, seeing her all grown up and yet looking exactly the same is just wrong, wrong I tell you...
i saw some stuff about her on VH1. She is stopped doing film and tv and went to school. she is some smart ass biotch now. ivy league or something, that would explain why she still has a big head.
i think her real life sister is hotter though(?) do the research.
It never occurred to me that young girls might have had crushes on Winnie Cooper.
I also like how P.Dirty has contempt for smart women. Don't we all...
