ode to farley
It should be pointed out first that I'm not big on dogs. I don't hate them, I just never had one growing up so I never developed the love for them that some people have. I don't talk to them in baby voices, I don't pet every dog I see, and I can't really think of a dog I've ever bonded with.
Except for Farley.
Farley is one of BP and Double S's dogs. BP's owned him for years. Farley is the only dog that I can actually say that I love. I don't know what it is. I used to think it was the fact that BP does this weird Mexican Triumph The Insult Dog voice for Farley whenever he walks into the room, but I think it must be more than that. Any time I'm sitting in a chair at BP's house, Farley will come up to me to be petted. Once I'm done petting him, he'll sit up in front of the chair and put his paws on my legs or my hands. I guess he knows how much he enjoys being petted so he figures he should return the favor. Lately he's taken to resting his head on my knee when I pet him. I have to admit it's kind of sweet.
BP and Double S are leaving Lexington at the end of the summer. I'm pretty upset about that. It hadn't really dawned on me, though, to think about Farley leaving. Until yesterday. Yesterday BP drove to Virginia to spend a week looking for houses. He took Farley with him and dropped him off at his parents house to stay until he and Double S move. It didn't really occur to me until last night that I didn't get to say goodbye to Farley. I can't believe how upset I am about that fact. I mean, I'm not crying or anything. I'm not even really spending a lot of time thinking about it - but when it does cross my mind, it's really kind of sad.
BP used to do the Triumph voice for Moby. That was one of the greatest dogs I have ever known.
I never got to meet Moby, but I've heard stories.

bp used to use the Triumph voice for girls too. Wierd.
I think BP pretty much uses the Triumph voice for everything.
It works somehow.
patrick, i reciprocate the emotional attachment you feel for me.
i'm sorry for leaving so abruptly. bp did not inform me of his plans, or else i would have insisted that you be there so that we could say our goodbye's.
As it stands now, I will never forgive you unless you come and spend some time with us in VA. we'll get wasted, like the old times, and we'll go scoping for bitches. i'll score. you'll strike out and wonder why. i'll tell you, 'cause i'm so drunk, that it's because you talk down to girls. but since we're pals, no feelings will be hurt. you'll carefully watch me spit my game the following night, and you will learn the intricacies of my pimpin. then you too, will score.
it will be great...
for me to poop on!
