the dame
Went to the Dame last night with P.Dirty and my tee-ball coach, Sara to see Stu Simpson of Sunday Valley do a solo thing. One of the openers was this guy named Spider who did rock numbers on an acoustic guitar. Dirty, Sara, and I are sitting at the bar, having a drink and talking quietly during the guy's set. Apparently, right before his last song, he says something to the effect of, "This next one is kind of dirty." I didn't hear him say that but P.Dirty and Sara did. At any rate the end of the song was thirty seconds of the guy screaming about something mommies and daddies do together on the bathroom floor. I was barely listening at first so it took my brain a few seconds to catch up with what I'd heard. Dirty and Sara caught it immediately, though. It was a very sweet song and I bet the lady it was written for feels very special.
Between Spider and Stu, a friend of ours played a couple of songs. Her husband sat and talked to Dirty and I while she performed. She prefaced one of her songs by saying, "This next one is all about how sometimes you're with somebody and you think you know them, but then you find out you really don't." At that point, her husband turned to Dirty and I and said, "This song is about me." Aaaaaaaaaawkwaaaaaarrrdd.
On a side note - I don't know what the hell kind of ink The Dame uses in their handstamps, but that stuff will not wash off.
pig blood, a la Carrie, i'm pretty sure.
That explains the pork smell. Well, that and the tenderloin in my pants.
nice.
