My new favorite place in Lexington is Wines On Vine. Okay, maybe that's overstating it, but it's a really nice place. I went there Friday night with my math tutor, Sara. We had dinner and a bottle of wine. The guy behind the counter didn't think we could finish the bottle. Ha! Not only did we finish it, but we had an extra glass a piece after that. Clearly he didn't know who he was messing with. The best part of the place was their eerily appropriate playlist. Before we left we heard Bright Eyes, My Morning Jacket, Van Morrison, Ryan Adams, The Shins, and Modest Mouse. Clearly, someone told them we were coming. The staff was also really nice and accomodating to a couple of people who didn't know anything about wine. We sat at their bar forever, surrounded by obvious regulars, and we never once felt unwelcome. Well except for when I spit out a piece of chicken onto the counter and told everybody it was undercooked. I got a lot of weird looks. Sorry but if that guy didn't want me eating off his plate he shouldn't have sat it so close to me.
