comics for sale
I'm selling some comics. I'm eventually going to put them on ebay, but thought I'd start here. Everything is in good condition unless noted otherwise. They're reading copies so they've been handled but not roughly or anything. If you're interested in any of these, email me at mrmojo1738@aol.com and we can discuss payment and shipping cost. Most of you will probably want to skip this post entirely.
House of M 1-8 - Sold
The heroes of the Marvel Universe wake up to find they've all gotten their hearts' desires. But there's a dark price. I'd let the whole set go for five dollars.
Demo 1-12 - Sold
Demo is the comic book version of an idie album. It's by Brian Wood and Becky Cloonan. It's 12 short stories. Some about people with powers some, just about normal people, but most of the stories have a twist. It's done in black and white in a kind of faux-manga style. I'd like to get ten dollars for the set.
Teenagers From Mars 1-8
One of my favorite series ever. Another black and white indie. It rocks. It's by Rick Spears and Rob G and it's about this kid who gets in fights, drinks beer, and draws comic books. Some FBI guys take away the comic book he's working on because they think it's obscene. So he gets a bunch of guns and takes the pages back. There's sex, violence, grave-robbing, zombies, beer, and a guy with a peg leg. It's really a fun book. The art is a little sketchy in places and not quite up to Marvel or DC standards but that makes it even better. Like a song by a garage band as opposed to... I dont know... Winger. I'd want five dollars for the set.
100% 1-5
One of my other favorite series ever. It's by Paul Pople I link to his website on my blog. It's about six different people and the way their lives intersect. It's about sex, and art, and boxing, and stripping, and guns. It's black and white and has some of the best art ever. I'd want ten dollars for the set.
WE3 1-3
Incredible book. It's about three animals with military exo-skelotons. Could be a movie it's so good. I'd want three dollars for the set.
Another Nail 1-3
A make-believe story about the Justice League. Features a whole lot of cool characters with art by Alan Davis. Alan Davis rocks. It's a pretige format so the pages are really thick and their are more pages than normal. I'd probably want around five dollars for the set.
Chosen 1-3
The story of the second coming where a little boy thinks he's Jesus. Twist ending. Not great but entertaining in places. I'd want three dollars for the set.
New Frontier 1-6
A great series set in the DC universe in the 60's just as super-heroes are starting to emerge. Focuses on Green Lantern a lot. Great art. Some of these issues are a little roughed up. But not bad. I'd take four dollars for the set.
Identity Crisis 1-7 -Sold
A super-heroe's wife is killed and the heroes of the DC Universe set out to find the killer. Great art. Terrible covers. Ten dollars for the set.
Seven Soldiers -Sold
This is a bunch of mini-series being put out by the guy who did WE3. It re-imagines a bunch of forgotten DC heroes. All the minis tie into one big story. It's still going on so the whole thing isn't published yet. Here's what's out:
Seven Soliders Bookend 1
Guardian 1-4
Klarion 1-4
Shining Knight 1-4
Zatana 1-3
Mr. Miracle 1
Bulleteer 1
I'd let the whole set go for fifteen dollars.
Walking Dead 1-23
Okay, I don't actually have 1-23. I have 1 and 3-23. I can't find my copy of issue number 2. This is a zombie series. It focuses on a small group of survivors who are trying to make new lives for themselves in a world overrun by zombies. It is incredible. It's written by a guy who lives in Lexington. I love this book. I'd let the set go for ten dollars. Or maybe less since I don't have number 2.
Ultimate Nightmare 1-4
Warren Ellis writes the Ultimate Universe. The Ultimate X-Men battle the Ultimate Avengers in an underground russian cave and discover a terrible secret. This series is part of a trilogy. I'd let them go for four dollars.
Ultimate Secret 1-4
The second part of the Warren Ellis Ultimate Unvierse trilogy. The Ultimate Avengers and the Ultimate Fantastic Four discover aliens watching earth and battle them. Leads into the third part of the trilogy. I'll let them go for four dollars.
Livewires 1-4
Story about a bunch of killer robots that act just like people. Set in the Marvel Universe. Very clever story. Funny and hip. Nice manga-esqe art. Written by Adam Warren who is a personal favorite. I'll let them go for four dollars.
Superman/Batman 1-4
Story is hard to follow but it's got great art by Carlos Pacheco. Superman and Batman start out evil and then get flung into a variety of paralell universes. Like I said, hard to follow but fun. I'll let them go for four dollars.
Day of Vengence 1-6
All the magic characters in the DC universe are getting killed off by God's hitman, the Specter. A bunch of loser charaters, including a talking monkey, set out to stop the killings. Not very good, but it ties into DC's big Infinite Crisis series that's currently going on. I'll let them for four dollars.
JLA 108-114
Kurt Busiek's complete run on JLA. The JLA fight evil versions of themselves called The Crime Syndicate. I'd let them go for four dollars.
Ultimate X-Men 54-65 plus Annual
Brian Vaugn and Stuart Immonen's run on the book. Really, really good. Issue 65 isn't actually out yet, but I'd wait til it came out before I shipped these. These are X-Men stories without decades of crap to keep up with. And the art is fantastic. I'd let them go for ten dollars.
Big Foot 1-4
It's about big foot eating people. It's co-written by Rob Zombie. Nice art. Decent story. Pretty creepy in places. I'd let them go for three dollars.
Wildcats 1-6
This is the second series, I think. It's the one with the Travis Charest and Bryan Hitch art. Really, really pretty to look at. Decent stories, but not great. I'd let them all go for four dollars.
Ultimate War 1-4
The Ultimate X-Men fight the Ultimate Avengers. I'd let them go for three dollars.
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Volume Two 1-6
Read the fantastic comics that inspired the terrible movie. Characters from 19th century literature are thrown together to stop HG Well's War of The Worlds. Soooooo good. I'd let them all go for five dollars.
X-Statix 1-12
Set in the marvel universe. A government team of mutants are seen as celebrities by the public. Great stories. Great art by Mike Allred. I'd let the set go for seven dollars.
DK2 1-3
The Dark Knight Strikes Again. This is the sequal to The Dark Knight Returns. Written and drawn by Frank Miller, the guy who did Sin City. Batman is old and kicks Superman's butt. I'd let the whole set go for three dollars.
NERD!
You love nerds. I know that because I read it on your boobs. I mean your shirt.
It's true.
When you come over tonight I'll tell you who would win in a fight between Flash and Green Lantern. And I'll tell you everything they got wrong in Batman Begins.
Oh did I not tell you about that thing I have to do tonight? Yeah it might run pretty late.
I didn't know the free clinic was open late.
Don't get mad just cause I don't want to listen to you talk nerd all night.
i just puked a little in my mouth, from that adorable exchange between the two of you.
i can't believe you're selling we-3. i thought you were in love with that comic.
But I always listen to you talk about doing your nails and getting your period and stuff...
I'm selling the issues of WE3. I'm keeping the trade paperback.
Oh yeah... shut up.
So who won between Green Lantern and the Flash???
When Flash and Green Lantern fight, we all lose.
I didn't think of it that way. You always were the wise one of the group. Then again, the group consisted of you, Dirty, and Aquaman.
I chose my group specifically becaue it made me look good by comparison.
