post-christmas post

This was the best Christmas I've ever had. Seriously.

It started on Friday and Saturday with my participation in my church's Christmas Eve services. I wrote and acted in a drama and manned the patented Patrick Drury roving stage camera. I've never had a live role in the Christmas Eve services and I really enjoyed it. Especially the end of the last service. There was a lot of hugging and "merry Christmas"ing. After the last service Sara and I went to dinner with the Connies and then went home and exchanged gifts. She got me the book Everything Is Illuminated, A gap gift certificates so I can buy some jeans, the Johnny Cash from Folsom Prison cd, A Bill Hicks at Oxford CD, some dental floss, and some toothpaste. She also got me my razr phone (but gave it to me early) and a special gift you can read about in the post below this one.

The next morning we went to her grandparent's house to have Christmas with her family. Her family is always really nice and welcoming to me. They got me the book Cavalier and Clay by Michale Chabon (which I've wanted to read for some time) and the second season of Scrubs (!!!!!). After breakfast, Sara, her mom, her brother and I went and saw King Kong. It wasn't as good as everyone says.

After the movie Sara and I joined my family at my grandparent's house. We had dinner, opened some gifts then went to my parent's house to open gifts with my immediate family. Sara forgot her sleeping clothes so she had to sleep in a nightgown. We got pictures. I'll try and post them as soon as they're developed. The next morning a dozen or so folks came to my parents' for breakfast. A game of Catchphrase broke out - which never happens with my family. Here's the final tally on my loot:
-Johnny Cash from Folsom Prison
-Bill Hicks at Oxford
-Gap gift certificate
-Razr phone
-Video Ipod (which I got early)
-Scrubs Season 2
-Kavalier & Clay
-Everything Is Illuminated
-Family Guy Season Four Volume I
-Official Family Guy Season One Guide
-Batman Begins
-The Rock
-The 40 Year Old Virgin
-A Comic book store gift certificate
-Some Kitchen knives
-A sweater from the Gap
-A sweatshirt from the Gap
-A sketch journal made from an old book
-A picture frame filled with pictures of my nephew and their artwork
-Some cologne
-Some cold hard cash
-Various stocking stuffers

Clearly, I'm spoiled.

WOW...YOU CLEANED UP! THAT WAS ALL FROM 1 CHRISTMAS?

Nice haul. Kristen got me an external Sony DVD-RW. It rocks! She is the bestest.

All one Christmas, Jesse. Christmas is big with the Connies.

James - Does that mean you can record TV shows, etc to DVD?

you've still got some goods comming nephew.

p.s. - you're a real hooker and i would like to hit you in public.

I got some stuff for you too. I called you Monday night but you didn't call me back. Also, what happened to us hanging out on Thursday night two weeks ago? Jackass.

Go back to Whore Island.

Oh yeah, sorry about that. Whore Island made me a Premium Member which entitled me to a Free Lifetime Pass to get in. It's hard to leave the Island.

I have an external DVD-RW drive. I'm trying to figure out a way to get movies off of my DVR onto my computer. Then I can copy TV shows onto DVD for us. By copy, I mean creating backups in case the originals don't work.
