According to the news last night, our fine state's govenor, Ernie Fletcher, used his recent State of the Commonwealth address to put forth the idea that Kentucky schools should consider teaching Intelligent Design.

Sigh...

Intelligent Design has no place in public school science classrooms. Intelligent Design is an attempt to marry scientific theories like evolution and the big bang to a sentient creator as first cause. That sort of thing doesn't belong in science class because a huge part of the equation, namely God, can't be quantified by science. If you can't address the God aspect of the theory through scientific means then teaching Intelligent Design as a "theory" is just religious compulsion. Teach creation in religion classes if you want, but calling it science misses some rather large points.

I say all that, believing quite strongly, that God did create the universe. I dont' think anyone could look at how well my face goes together and doubt there's a creator. Am I right?

Right. Here's a thought that I've heard and sort of adopted as my own:

- Science is the means to discover how God's creations work.

You are right. God has a sick sense of humor.

I'll kill you dead.
