pope news
From Newsarama's interview with Adhouse Books' Chris Pitzer:
NRAMA: Sources tell us that Adhouse is also working with Paul Pope on something for 2006. Any chance for a comment on that?
CP: Sure. I guess you could call it Paul's monograph, and it's called Pulphope. Not only will it include never-before-seen art, but also his essays/thoughts on manga, science fiction, erotic art, and a few other categories. Of course, we'll throw in some comic goodness and make it as special as can be. Paul has recently started giving lectures on process and ideas. I think this is his next step in communicating these to the world.
NRAMA: How did this partnership between you and Paul Pope develop?
CP: Well, I've been a fan of Paul's work since early the early THBs. I started writing him way back then, and recall meeting him in San Diego one year. However, I think the current relationship came about due to his work in Project: Superior, and his writing the introduction to James Jean's Process Recess. My understanding is that Paul appreciates the small press, and liked what AdHouse has been putting out the past year.
