The third issue of Brian Wood & Ryan Kelly's new comic, Local, came out yesterday. I really dug it. Each issue of Local follows it's main character, Megan McKeenan, to a different city in the US. There her story is told against the backdrop of that particular city. This issue was set in Richmond, Virginia and told the story of what happens when a hometown band comes back home after years of fame. It's a really good read. I highly recommend it.
Fictitious band called Theories and Defense. At least I assume they're fictitious.
And don't worry, your JC bashing is welcome here. As is JC's Aquaman bashing.
Yeah this issue was really good and I think the fictitious band Theories and Defense was loosely based on a Richmond band that Wood talks about in his notes at the end of the book (I can't remember the bands name right now).
This series is really great but I still think issue #2 is still my favorite.
I liked #2 a lot, which was a great relief after being left kind of cold by #1.
