pope + batman + next wed = awesome

Next Wednesday heralds the arrival of Paul Pope's newest comic work, the first issue of Batman: Year 100. Here's a preview page from the upcoming work:

Paul Pope is one of my favorite artist working in comics today - and far and away my favorite writer/artist combo. While this isn't his first foray into superheroes, he's better known for sci-fi, crime, and slice of life works. Here's the cover art to my favorite of his books, 100%:

Here's a self portrait of Pope:

And here's the artist himself:

I almost bought an album of a band I didn't know the other day just because Paul Pope had done their cover and sleeve art work.

does that chick have 6 fingers on her right hand?!?!

eeeeewwwwwwwwww!!!!!!

You're seeing a finger from her other hand credp into the frame.

But while we're on the topic, my mother has six fingers on one hand and your disguting reaction to superfluous digit just furthers the stereotype that people like my mom are circus freaks.

I expect this crap from James, but not from you...

It's not BP's fault...he's father was killed by a six fingered man.

I had a growth on my neck a few summer's ago, and people were calling it my twin. I don't make fun of people for having extra parts. I make fun of people who are idiots...like BP. For example, did you happen to read on my blog on how he puked between his legs? He is a genius!

james has four mothers. he told me so.

now who's an idiot?

...

Hey you still got those 100% singles for sale? If so, I'll take them off your hands for $5 and a beer.

What did you pick up at the comic shop today?

Remember Kirkman is having a signing at A+ on Southland today from 4:30 - 7:30.

Nerd Out!

You just bought yourself some 100% singles.

My pickings were slim. Just some DC superhero stuff. Nothing I really wanted - just toilet reading, really.

Are you going to see Kirkman? Tell him I said something nerdy and obnoxious about Sleepwalker or something.

BP shaves his legs.

You also spelled awesome wrong in your title for this post.
