reader poll: concerts

I was thinking about concerts today. Mostly because Over The Rhine is playing this weekend and Sara and I were talking about it last night. I started thinking about the concerts I've been to over the course of my life. Then I decided to list them here because that's the sort of mindless personal revelations blogs were created for. This list doesn't include 50 or 60 christian acts I went to see before my musical taste got a little more refined/satanic. It also excludes local acts or really small national acts that I can't remember/don't care to mention.

-Dave Matthews (about seven times - never again)
-Big Head Todd & The Monsters
-Bela Fleck
-Live
-Counting Crows (twice)
-Ben Folds (three times)
-Duncan Sheik
-Lenny Kravitz
-John Mayer (left after one song - ha!)
-Blues Traveler
-Sheryl Crow (opened for Blues Traveler if you can believe that)
-Tom Petty
-The Black Crows (Was late and got to my seat just as they said, "Goodnight")
-New Edition
-David Lee Roth
-Bob Dylan (twice)
-Bryan Setzer Orchestra
-Ratt
-Willie Nelson
-Lucy Pearl
-Modest Mouse
-Okkervil River
-Over The Rhine
-G.Love & Special Sauce
-Caitlin Carey
-Chris Whitley

That's all I can think of right now, but I'm sure there's more. Now tell me who've you seen.

Here is my list...I'm sure I'll remember some that I missed later:

Johnny Cash
Guided by Voices (15 times)

By seeing Johnny Cash and Jeff Buckley you've done two things I'd love to do that I'll never be able to. You suck.

Your blog mentioned that you noticed Arcade Fire was coming to the Dame way back when. Did you see them?

fantastic goobers
sunday valley (very good show)
emmet swimming
HFStival (many, many bands in DC - foo, no doubt, presidents, gin blossoms, jimmy's chicken shack, garbage, etc. etc. - tear)

that's all i can think of...

I didn't see Arcade Fire...I had planned to, but something came up and I didn't get to go.

I saw Jeff Buckley by total accident at a bar in Nashville (there were only like 20 people there). It was before his first album was released.

I figured Sunday Valley was a given for me - but didn't include it because they're a local band.

Seeing Jeff Buckley by accident has to fall under the category of best accident ever.
