reader poll: local eats
I read another blogger talking about his favorite hamburger the other day. It made me wonder where the best hamburger in Lexington is served. I used to would have said Roy's East High Diner without hesitation - they had the best burger I've ever had anywhere. But Roy's East High Diner has become Buddy's and the what used to be a place for a great burger is now a place for an average burger at best. I'm also tempted to say Tally Ho's but I'm pretty sure the allure of the Ho burger is eating it after a night at Kitty's. So with no other guesses, I put the question to my local Lexington readers (and anyone who's eaten enough burgers in Lexington to have an educated opinion). What's the best burger in Lexington? No chain restaurants, please.
joseph-beth's cafe has a pretty good one. and i bet chinoe's does too.
The O'Round at Lynaugh's is pretty darn good and the Super Ho w/ egg from Tally Ho will always hold a special place in my stomach.
Oh, and the Mali-burger from Malibu Pub is also really good.
I've never been to the Malibu pub in spite of a friend telling me that I would love it. I shall put this to the test.
I've had an O'Round at Shamrock's which is like Lynaugh's North.
I think I've had the burger at Joseph Beth's. I can't remember what I thought, so that's not a good sign.
it's been years since i've really been to lexington...
but, when i was there...
i ate A LOT of burgers...
Atomic's Carribean Burger was great.
Also, Charlie Brown's burger was fabulous.
Try those. (are these places still alive?)
Yeah, they're still around. I've had both. Both good but I'm not sure if I'm ready to say the best in Lexington.
white castle.
Definitely the O'Round at Lynaghs!
Thanks for throwing in your opinion. Do we know you?
nope!...just a lurker who is amused by your blog and happens to live in central ky!
Nice. Thanks for popping in. Feel free to comment any time.
It's been my experience that lurkers know a good burger.
It's a universal truth.
