alex toth - r.i.p.
One of the giants of the comic book industry died this weekend. His name was Alex Toth. There's some info on the man and his life here at Newsarama.com. Most of you probably don't recognize his name, but if you watched the Super Friends when you were a kid, you're acquainted with his work. Toth did the character designs for the original Super Friends cartoon:

Toth was an inovator who, sadly, in discussions of comic greats is often overlooked because of his modest presence in monthly super hero comics. He had an incredible ability to capture a story with minimal line work.

I kinda lived for Superfriends. Have you ever noticed how the old train station in Cincy (where the Imax is now) looks just like the Hall of Justice? I used to imagine when I was kid that the Superfriends were actually in there!
I don't know that I've ever actually seen the train station you're talking about.
Have you ever noticed that BP looks kinda like El Dorado, the Super Friends hispanic character? It's a fun fact!
Ha!
If you haven't seen the station, you gotta. Google it.
