weekend

Friday - Hung out at the house most of the night, working on some web page stuff (that's right, On a Friday night.) Sara went and saw A Prairie Home Companion with Jennifer. Sara came over to my house after that around 11:00 and we decided to go to Kitty's. I was glad we did because I ran into favorite-bartender Mike and found out that this was his last weekend. He's been at Kitty's for seven years. He's leaving to work at a couple of other bars - one of which is the Patchen Pub, very close to my house. He bought Sara and I a beer and a shot and we all chatted for a bit before he got called away to take care of some stuff (he was managing that night). I told Sara that even though it's been quite a while since Kitty's has been the refuge it used to be for me, knowing that Mike is leaving kind of puts the final nail in the coffin. It's the end of an era.

Saturday morning - Sara came over and made me an omelet. Not just any omelet, but the greatest omelet ever:

Yes, that's a sprig of parsley on top for decoration. I get all sweaty and full just looking at it again. After breakfast I went out to my mailbox and I saw that I had received a package from Amazon.com, which was interesting because I had not ordered anything from Amazon. When I opened the box I found these:

James Jean's Project Recess portfolio and the trade paperback of Brian Wood's Demo series. Sara's mom, Jan, bought them off my Amazon wishlist. There may not be a sweeter lady alive. If you're reading this Jan, thanks again. And the rest of you could learn something from her, namely: buy me stuff.

Saturday night - Met Vlad and ET at Taste of Thai downtown. Last year, by chance, the three of us and Sara ended up there on the night of The Midsummer's Night Run. We ate outside at one of the sidewalk tables and watched the runners go by. ET liked it so much she wanted to do it again this year. Unfortunately Sara couldn't make it this time. It was fun. Vlad said he's going to run in it next year and get Sara to run with him. After dinner I walked across the street to the Dame to see Frank Black in concert. Frank Black!! Of The Pixies!! It was awesome. I've never seen someone perform so effortlessly. I kind of figured he wouldn't do any Pixie's songs, but he did Wave of Mutilation and Mr. Grieves, so, you know... awesome.

Sunday - Met Sara at St. Awesome's. Had a couple of things on my mind that resulted in me having kind of a rough morning. Strangely enough, four different people came up to me on different occasions and encouraged me. It was really nice and just what I needed. During Reverb Sara got up and spoke about her career search. She was really nervous about it, but did a great job. After church we got some Chipotle, took a nap, did my grocery shopping, took a walk, watched some Scrubs on DVD, listened to music, and uploaded pictures to Sara's Myspace page.

"I get all sweaty and full just looking at it again."

that's what she said.

Boo.

OK, the similarities between you and the Colonel keep getting more strange. I can't tell you how many photos of visually appealing, delicately prepared plates of food he has taken. I will have to share the collection with you sometime. Are you sure you weren't conjoined twins?

If I weren't so much smarter, sexier, and talented than is I might think you were on to something.

This isn't the first time I've taken a picture of food. I had a picture of some lettuce wraps on the digital camera but they got erased. Now, I wish I'd posted them.

I got some pictures from MWK1 of the breakfast Dirty made. Actually, I think you took the picture and sent it to me. You should post that.

I remember that picture, but I don't seem to have it. Send them back to me.

First of all yes I have a myspace page. I am officially a dork. Also that was the most awsome waffle I mean omelet ever!

Whoa...don't be so hard on yourself Sara. Having a myspace page doesn't make you a dork. Having a myspace page, your own blog, and going to the comic book store makes you a dork....wait.

Ha ha! You're a dor... Wait...

Just wanted to let everyone know that I didn't go to the comic book store on Wednesday, which in fact is comic book day. I went on Thursday. I'm such a dork!

Geez. How do you mess that up? It's so simple!
