weekend
Friday night, after work, I met Sara at Chili's. We had dinner together before she joined Jennifer for a 7:00 showing of Invincible. Sara is a sucker for any true-story sports movie where the under dog pulls it out in the end or the tough-but-fair coach turns a lovable bunch of losers into a winning team. I had a couple of offers to hang out with people that night, but decided I needed to do some studying up on a couple of projects (sorry Clarkie, we'll get together this week). So I went to Barnes and Noble and spent some time reading. Sara came to my house to see me after her movie. When I opened my door, she yelled, "I'm gonna score the final touchdown and win the big game!" and tackled me.
Saturday Sara joined me back at my house for omelets. I didn't take any pictures this time because they fell apart in the pan. They can't all be masterpieces. After breakfast Sara CLEANED MY KITCHEN. She did all my dishes and scrubbed the counters. It was awesome. She mostly did it because she's really sweet, but also because another mouse got into my place and pooped in all the dishes that were out on the counter. Sara had to be at work by one o'clock and I had to be at St. Awesome's, so we said our goodbyes. I directed video for the weekend services (it went awesome, thanks for asking). After church I argued with nerds about comic books on the internet for a few minutes, got a shower, and then met ET and Vlad at Atomic Cafe for Vlad's birthday. I had a burger (with a couple of pineapple slices on top), some sweet potato chips, a bowl of their macaroni, and a Negra Modelo. I didn't eat it all, but Vlad finished what I couldn't. That's the only reason he invites me out places...
Sunday morning I drove to St. Awesome's a bit shell-shocked at the news of a plane crashing just outside the Bluegrass airport. We spent a lot of time praying for the victims' families before and during the services. Reverb was awesome. Jason covered Ray LaMontagne covering Gnarles Barkley. That kid is so talented it's stupid. Fred quoted Bigee Smalls in his teaching. After the service Dirty and I went to Shamrock's for lunch. Then I went home and took a nap, watched my latest Netflix movie (Hell House - it's a documentary about a church that does one of those schlocky, shameful haunted houses every year that focuses on drug users, homosexuals, and suicide victims going to hell), and went to Panera to visit Sara. Spent the rest of the night after that reading and writing.
