weekend

Big weekend. Earlier in the summer JC Samsonite and Aquaman's Mom got together and decided to throw Aquaman a suprise party to celebrate him getting his PhD and becoming a real fake doctor. The party was scheduled for this weekend.

Friday after work Sara and I loaded into my mom and dad's PT Cruiser (they let us borrow it for gas mileage sake. Big Blue is not easy on the gas) and heade for Virginia. It was an eight hour drive. I'd made a playlist on my iPod the night before without really paying attention to how long it was. We didn't listen to it the whole time, but I'm pretty sure it would have lasted the whole way there. About an hour outside of JC's town I got pulled over by a cop for speeding through a little town. He let me go with a warning. That has never happened to me in the history of recorded history. We finally got to JC' place around 1:30 and pretty much went straight to bed.

Saturday we got up and JC cooked us eggs. We went to Starbucks and the grocery. Then we spent most of the day getting ready for the party. We also met JC's girlfriend, Kristen, for the first time. She's awesome. Very sweet and not tied up in a closet at all like you would picture James' girlfriend being. Around 2:00 JC's mom and Aquaman's mom showed up to start some cooking:

The menu for the evening consisted of hamburgers, hotdogs, Mexican food, and Philipino food. IT. WAS. AWESOME. Here's an early picture of the spread:

James manned the grill. He's really not very good at grilling. He can flip a burger, though:

After a while, guest started to arrive. Like D-Sizzle and the entire Aquam family.

When Aquaman finally showed up, he was suprised, to say the least:

Eddie Van Donkey got him an Aquamn shirt as a present:

Everybody hung out and had a good time:

Somebody sabotaged Ian's shirt. It said cork originally:

The Flash made an appearance:

Aquaman beat JC at pool:

And I beat him at arm wrestling:

If it'd been calf-wrestling, he would have wrecked me.

After a while most of the guest left. Aquaman, D-Sizzle, JC, Kristen, Melissa, Rodel, Sara, and I all stayed around though and watched a Dane Cook HBO special from JC's DVR. Eventually everybody went to bed.

Sunday Sara and I got up, said our goodbyes and were on the road by about 10:00 am. Eight hours later we rolled into Lexington, at some Indian food, then zoned out on the couch during the usual Sunday night tv line up. I was in bed by 9:45. Awesome weekend but tiring. Good job with the party JC. And congrats on being a real fake doctor, Aquaman.

Glad to hear that you had a safe trip and it looks like the party was a blast.

Congrats to Aquaman. If anyone deserves being a fake doctor, it's you man.

Also, congrats to JC for having a girlfriend! We're so proud of you!

Seriously, I think a MW Winter Retreat is in order.

Not only was the state of shock priceless, that is also his "OH" face.

I'm not good at keeping secrets, but I kept this one under wraps since August. I'm glad it worked out.

As for MWK, The Winter Retreat, I'm there!

The highlights for me were as follows:
1. Getting the new J.T.-Thanks James!
2. The look of shock on Aquaman's face as he walked in the door.
3. Meeting Kristen. She is soo sweet.
4. Getting to finally hang out with James.
5. Getting the new J.T.-did I already say that?

Numbers 1 & 5: Boo

Wow...I am very flattered. I guess I lived up to the hype, and there really wasn't that much hype.

Oh...in regards to the J.T. CD, you are both welcome!

Congratulations Dr. Aquaman!

(and patch/sara - i think it's awesome you two went down to surprise him like that... that's a mark of true friendship... it makes me incredibly glad to know you)

BP Sizzle, I am proud of you man. It takes so much work to become a fake doctor. That shows some sweet discipline! I wish I could have been there and am so glad that Uncle Dirty and Sara ran over the border :P

As far as James, happy birthday bro! I am glad you hosted such a sweet shindig. I also glad you fooled a girl into diggin' you :) j/k You deserve an awesome mamacita!

It was my birthday??? Hmmm...I didn't seem to get a cake or presents. What a crappy birthday party.
