NNNOOOOOO!!!!
Last night when I was out to dinner I saw Duece, a guy who I used to know from Kitty's. I asked him if he still worked there and he told me Kitty's shut down last week.
I almost cried.
Apparently, the guy who owns Pazzo's bought it and had some plan for it, but the insurance on it ended up being too high or something or other. I didn't think too much about it last night because we were out with friends. This morning, though, it's really been making me sad. That bar was home base two or three nights a week for BP, Dirty, Adsprad, and I a few years ago.
I want to find the guy who owns it and ask him if I can buy some of the stools off of him, or some of the fixtures or something. I need something from that place to hold onto.
In honor, this post is now the start of the Kitty's memorial thread. Post your fond Kitty's memories in the comment section. I'll start:
-One night BP, Dirty, Adsprad, and I were the only patrons in the place. Nobody was behind the bar and we needed a refill, so I decided I'd walk behind the bar and help myself. Right about that time two bouncers came in and saw me. One of them stepped behind the bar, picked me up, and tossed me like a ragdoll over the bar to the other bouncer. It sounds violent, but it was actually done very gently and in the nicest spirit possible.
-Jota asked me and BP to try and get rid of his girlfriend for him. So we had them meet us at Kitty's and we both spent the rest of the night hitting on her really hard. I think I had my hand on her thigh most of the night. It didn't work, but apparently Jota appreciated the effort because the next day he called BP an I and all he said was, "Hey, hey, hey... guys... last night... AWESOME!"
Now you guys:
i remember, during your grieving period, a group of girls walked in one night, and it was pretty apparent that they were part of a bachelorette party. once we figured it out, you, after a few, decided you would go and talk to the bride-to-be and talk her out of it. the ever-so-prudent nealio clotheslined you from his barstool to keep you from making an ass out of yourself. it was equally funny for your wanting to tell this chick not to get married and for nealio's sense of duty.
kitty's shut down, huh? is there really any reason left for anyone to stay in lexington?
Chivalry lives on in Neal.
Del told me there is a Kitty O'Shea's in Arlington. Maybe you should venture out this way.
Everytime I've been to Lexington, I've been to Kitty's. I just remember at getting shitfaced during MW1 and meeting my twin...who was better looking and skinnier than me. The rest of that night was a blur.
I never went to Kitty's, but before it was Kitty's it was the U Club which was a common hang-out for jocks and the chicks that like the jock type...athletic supporters as I like to call them.
Anyways, I went there w/ some of my friends for some reason (to see a specific girl or some dumb reason like that) and I got started talking to this one girl for about 10 mins. Now, her ex-boyfriend who was in the bar obviously didn't like to see her enjoying company of a stud like myself so he came over and started this really intellectual conversation with me that ended up with him taking a swing at em, and me punching him in the nose. Then the bouncers (who didn't have the same kind spirit that Kitty's bouncers obviously had) grabbed me ever so roughly and threw me out of the back entrance.
Prologue: Idiots ex-girlfriend gave me a ride back to my place and we went out a couple of times.
it's hard for me to remember specific nights. the majority of them consisted of no one else in the bar except our usuall crew and the bartender. but one night in particular patch and i went to kitty's early. we sat on the patio and eventually to the bar. as the night progressed the bar started filling up and a storm started rolling in. before we knew it the bouncers were telling everyone to get inside. the storm was getting so bad that they had to lock the doors and keep everyone inside. think about it... forced to stay in a bar. what fun.
A couple years ago I went to kitty's with a friend and happened to run in to Patrick and BP. I spent the whole time talking to them and not my friends. After I left BP talked Patrick in to asking me out. So that is probably my favorite memory.
Ouch, I guess I should have picked that one too...
One time before Sara and I were dating we met BP and Stephanie at Joe's Crabshack then I took her to Kitty's afterwards and we sat on the patio and I assaulted her with my high power sexual charm.
Wait, does that sound like I sexually assaulted her?
