another reason not to watch house
I hate that show House. I don't know why. Something about the curmudgeony doctor and the plot formula (although, Scrubs commits both of these sins and I love that show...). If I didn't already not watch it, I would definitely not watch it in a few weeks when, as Stereogum reports, Dave Matthews guest stars as a piano playing savant. Ugh.
I used to love Dave Matthews. Then I turned a corner. Apparently, I'm not alone. Check out this last bit of Stereogum's post on Matthew's appearance:
I missed the age range by two years, but I did see Dave in concert more times than I'm willing to admit to and I did finally get pushed off the bandwagon. For me it was a combination of frat-enthusiasm (which shouldn't matter, but it does) and the feeling that I'd seen and heard everything that the man had to offer and it wasn't getting any better.
I loved DMB in high school and college. I have to say that love that I had for the band is now a love for the CDs that I grew up listening to. My DMB phase probably ended after Before These Crowded Streets. I got the albums after BTCS, but just didn't enjoy them as much as the ones beforehand. I remember Sizzle telling me one time he went to a concert, and these youngsters were like, "I DID IT!!!" I'm not sure if that was the right song. However, when they played something older, the youngsters had no idea what they were listening to.
Time have changed. To quote a line from the cook in Muppets Take Manhattan, Big city, hmm? Live. Work, huh? But. Only peoples. Peoples is peoples. No is buildings. Is tomatoes, huh? Is peoples, is dancing, is music, is potatoes. So, peoples is peoples. Okay?
True dat, my friend. True dat.

"And if you were born between '75 and, say, '82, you've probably seen those Dave spasms live and in the flesh. Question is, how many times are you willing to admit to? And what pushed you off the Dave Matthews Bandwagon? For us, it was seeing frat boys being hazed in the Hershey Park parking lot during the Crash tour. "Satellite" just never sounded quite the same."
