catch up
Haven't been active for a few days, so I'm gonna jam a lot into one post. Buckle up.
Anniversary
Saturday was the two year anniversary of this blog in it's current form. I blogged for about five years or so before changing to the current format. The old format was 600 posts of me describing things that have come out of me throughout my life. That's right. 600. I'm like a weird thing dispenser.
Weekend
Spent most of the weekend at St. Awesome's volunteering. When I wasn't there I was attending a dinner theatre that ET's brother was in (but it was at St. Awesome's so when I wasn't there, I was still there) or at the Colonel's for an Oscar part with ET, Vlad, Dirty, NNFred, GG, and their families.
Bloated
One of the most generous ladies I know gave Sara and I a gift certificate to Texas Roadhouse (even though she won it fair and square at the dinner theatre). Sara and I used it last night. By the time we were finished with our appetizer, salads, entrees, sides, deserts, and half-gallon bucket of peanuts, we were both to full to move. I was so full that I wish I still had my old blog so I could detail some of the things that came out of me eventually.
Television: Studio 60
I feel pretty certain that Studio 60 is gone. You might see NBC running whatever episodes they had in the can throughout the summer, but I'm betting that'll be the extent of it. The Black Donnelly's (the show aired in Studio 60's place last night) was pretty awesome, though, so I'm not exactly mourning the loss at this point. Especially since Studio 60 never really lived up to it's potential.
Television: Lost
I'm still watching Lost. Still enjoying it, mostly. I get a little frustrated at how stupid some of the characters act, though. Jack has had the upper hand on the Others at least twice now - and not once has he thought to ask them WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON ON THAT DAMN ISLAND!
Television: The Soup
ET has always raved about The Soup. I think I realized it was kind of funny but just never made the time to watch it. Sara has her DVR set to record it, though, so I sat down and watched an episode a couple of weeks ago. It was awesome. I watch it every week now.
Television: Shame
I watch Wife Swap.
Podcast
New episode of Not So Live should be going up later this week. We had a technical difficulty that kept us from posting one this week (sorta) but we said from the beginning that it would be a weekly or bi-weekly deal, so I don't want to create the expectation that there'll be one every week. And, yeah, I know it's a little presumptuous to presume any expectation at all.
About "The Soup"...
I have also been introduced to this blackhole of useless, yet very entertaining, information. That guy on there is no Greg Kinnear, but he's pretty funny.
Along those same lines, "The Girls Next Door" is a trainwreck of beautiful women that you just can't look away from. E television sure has figured out how to simultaneously destroy one's soul and intellect while putting a smile on their face.
