comic books are dumb
I just finished writing next week's column. It's all about the news that Marvel Comics just killed Captain America. You'll have to wait til next week to read my nerd rage over that particular gem.
In the mean time, here's another little piece of four-color idiocy, featuring Captain America, that further illustrated why comic books are dumb.
Here's the condensed backstory: Captain America recently acted in defiance to government act that sought to force all super heroes to register with the government. He got arrested. Here's a scene featuring him being interviewed by a couple of reporters after his arrest, in which one of the reporters tries to illustrate to him that he no longer represents America:

Who cares that you fought in World War II agains the Nazis in order to secure the freedom and safety of the planet! You don't have a Myspace page!
I'm gonna go lie down.
