this old heap
Sorry posting has been erratic this week. I've been spending my nights doing some renovations on Ft. Bachelor. Four or five years ago I got the bright idea to tile to kitchen and the entrance to my house. I didn't know anything about tiling so it pretty much sucked. There were gaps. There was unevenness. There were small animals trapped in the mortar under the tiles. Just a bad job all around. So this week I started the arduous task of taking up the tile and preparing the floor to have linoleum put back down.
It hasn't been as difficult as I thought it would be, but it has been hard labor. And messy. I should have laid plastic down because there's a thin layer of ceramic dust on everything I own now. Here's a picture of the progress from two nights ago:

All the tile is up now, so all that's left to do is scrape up any mortar that didn't come up with the tiles. Oh, and carting off all the broken tiles.
This weekend sara's step-brother Nathan is gonna help me replace a bit of my ceiling that suffered some water-damage a while back. Look at me being all Bob Villa...
Wow! The Kitchen floor looks better already!
Jerk.
