New column up at the Harlan Daily. It's about paying cash for an engagement ring.
my husband uses this phrase "failing up" (i guess instead of "out") it's when we try things and are so bummed that they didn't work out, but then that experience causes us to get better and go farther in life. i guess most people with brains "fail up" because they don't want to make the same mistakes twice. and that is what you have done so well. congratulations.
