The Burnside Writer's Collective is a weekly online magazine that deals with faith, culture, and social justice. It's most famous contributor is Donald Miller, author of Blue Like Jazz and To Own A Dragon. I recently submitted a review of the new Vampire Weekend album to them and they published it on the site. I also received a very nice email from their music editor inviting me to be a part of future reviews - I'll post links as that begins happening.

Bravo! You sounded like an overly educated music snob that more than likely has now idea how to play a single chord on a guitar, yet has strong opinions about how others share there talents! And that IS a compliment.

I also resemble that description and agree with your review: novel sound, but will only hold my attention for about a month.

Dude - Congrats and great article. Really well done! I have to share with you though this past Saturday night I watched VW on SNL. Had never heard of them before and as I stood amongst the ashes that was all that remained of small birthday-bash-turned-political-conversation-stampede, I blirted out, "by the name alone sounds like a band that Patch and Bret would like which means I probably won't care for it."

After their second song, VW had captured my attention as well as several others in the room! I'm telling you this because it just proves that once you buy in to the fact it's a Mandy Moore world we're all living in, you and I are truly are brothers from that point forward. :) I just downloaded the VW disc and am set to give it a full run through.
