catch-up

I'm finally starting to feel like I'm back home after spending the first half of the week in Vegas. So here's a catch-up of some stuff I hadn't had a chance to post about.

First up, Friday night, The Colonel, GG, Greg Chandler, vide-genius Dave Cottingham, and I filmed the last of St. Awesome's Mac Vs PC parody pieces. These pieces taught me an important lesson about content and creativity. Some time when you want to be bored by me being all introspective you can ask me about it.

The next day I had lunch with my family to celebrate my brother Jeff's birthday. Lately every birthday party I've been a part of has taken place at Miyako - which is awesome because I love Miyako. We had a really good time, especially the nephews.

Later that night a bunch of us headed over to Shamrock's to see Charley The Intern play. Charley was joined on stage by our friend Jonothan - and, making his sober and musical debut at Shamrock's, Dirty.

The next morning Matt McKay and I flew out to Vegas for the National Association of Broadcasters' show and the Guru's conference. We spent most of our time there on the floor of the NAB show looking at video gear and trying to solve some of St. Awesome's tech problems. Well, Matt did anyway. I was mostly just overwhelmed by it all.

When we weren't on the convention floor we got to do some sightseeing. We saw Love by Cirque Du Soleil. It's the Cirque show done to Beatles music. It was the most incredible thing I've ever seen. I would totally recommend it to anyone. Apparently we sat in the same row as American Idol loser Daughtry. Or at least some of his band. There was one guy in a saucy little hat acting like a total D-bag. I tried not to notice.

On our last day in town we headed out to Red Rock Canyon and walked around. It was beautiful.

So, yeah, things have been busy lately, but fun. If everything goes well I should have some big news coming up later today, too.
