back in debt and lovin' it

Hey! Look at this house! I wonder who owns it?
House

Oh, that's right! Sara and I do! Yesterday I stepped back into the world of home ownership, dragging Sara along with me. And the beautiful corner lot cape cod that you see above is the result!

Almost a year ago Sara and I were sitting at Shamrock's with BC and Erika bemoaning the fact that I was convinced Sara would have to live with me in my old house for a year or so after we got married because I didn't think I had enough equity built up to make selling make sense. That's when BC stepped in and said, "Let's look at this together."

Now, two months before the wedding, my old place is sold and Sara and I have found a great starter home for the two of us to move into once we're married.

(Between all of this, and throwing us a shower last weekend, is anybody else beginning to think maybe BC and Erika are possibly the two most generous and helpful people in the world?)

The house is already livable, but we have some changes we want to make before we move in. We also have some furniture to buy since Sara burned all of my old stuff and pretended it was an accident. she couldn't explain why she was wearing a ski mask and holding a gas can, but who can be mad at this:

Ft. Bachelor is dead! Long live Ft. Marriage!

Congrats guys! Jen and I are so thrilled for you both. Can't wait to see you soon.

Not sure if I can make Men's Weekend and the Wedding. I'm thinking that this year, the wedding is more important????

Also, now that Fort Bachelor is no more- will future men's weekends be hosted at a non-married location? Maybe a rental site somewhere?

Congrats! The house looks beautiful, Sara looks beautiful (and happy), and the neighborhood looks beautiful! However, you should be warned, your neighbors a couple streets over like to have a lot of backyard BBQ's and play "midnight basketball" from time to time.

We are so happy for you guys!

Yaaaa!
What a wonderful start for you both. Congratulations!

Ooooooh, this makes more sense now. Congrats! I need to read up more often.
